Tickets are now available for the Liberation Day service

Free tickets are now available for people who would like to be seated in Liberation Square for the 80th anniversary service of thanksgiving - marking the end of the Nazi occupation in Jersey.

A dedicated website has been launched for people to find out about this year's commemorative events.

The States of Jersey said licensed venues could remain open an hour later on Friday 9 May, without applying for an extension.

It means bars can stay open until midnight, and nightclubs can stay open until 03:00.

People can apply for the free tickets via the Liberation 80 Eventbrite page.

The States said there would be a small number of tickets available from the Royal Court Building, on a first come first served basis, for people who could not access tickets online.
