A woman was hit in the face by a masked man during an attempted robbery in a woodland.

West Midlands Police said she was attacked while walking in woods off Jardine Crescent in Coventry shortly after 11:00 GMT on 27 February.

Detectives said the woman was approached by a man, wearing a balaclava, who asked her for money.

He hit her in the face before running away.

Police have investigated but no suspect has been identified.

The force is appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
