Plans to build more than 100 homes to be built on farmland in a Berkshire village have been submitted.

Developer David Wilson Homes wants to build a mix of 135 apartments and houses on land at Ducks Nest, south of Arborfield.

The site, currently used for crop farming, would also be used to create a 10.5 hectare (26 acre) recreational green space, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.

A public consultation on the plans, which have been validated by Wokingham Borough Council, runs until 10 May.

The green space would include a 2.3km (1.4 mile) walking route along with a car park for visitors.

Of the homes, ranging from one-bedroom apartments to five-bedroom houses, 40% would be affordable.

If it gets the go-ahead, the new homes would be near the new Arborfield Green development, made of up to 3,500 new properties.
