A woman who slashed a fellow inmate with a razor has been jailed for eight years.

Jade Mason, 39, of Eastfield Road, Peterborough, was on remand at the city's prison in April last year when she attacked a 36-year-old woman, leaving her with a 10cm (4in) gash on her face.

Six months later, while on remand again, she threw a cup of boiling water laced with sugar over another inmate.

She admitted causing grievous bodily harm with intent and assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and was sentenced at Cambridge Crown Court on Tuesday.

She also admitted five counts of theft committed in Peterborough in May last year.
