Police said the robbers were targeting the former railway line which passes through Wombourne

Two teenagers have been arrested after a series of robberies in which police say people using a well-known walking and cycling route were targeted.

They were carried out on the old Wombourne branch railway line track in Staffordshire, around the Bells Lane, Market Lane and Wombourne areas, Staffordshire Police said.

The robberies took place between 3 May and Tuesday with two mobiles and three bikes taken.

The two boys, aged 14 and 15, from Wolverhampton, were arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of robbery, a force spokesperson said.

Some stolen items were found after searches, they added.
