Police appeal for information on racist graffiti

Police are investigating more than a dozen pieces of racist graffiti that they believe have been carried out by the same person or group.

West Mercia Police said 15 separate messages had appeared in Bridgnorth, Shropshire, "since around October".

The force said the latest pieces of graffiti reported were on the former youth club on Innage Lane on 25 January and under the A458 bypass on 21 January.

"We do believe the graffiti is linked and is [by] the same person/s," a police spokesperson told the BBC in an email.

The graffiti has been found in alleyways and footpaths and under bridges in recent weeks.

One incident reported by residents on Facebook last month involved a swastika symbol sprayed onto a pavement.

West Mercia Police said they understood that the graffiti was distressing and urged anyone with information to contact them.
