A former police officer charged with 13 counts of misconduct in public office has appeared in court.

Jenade Yamin, 30, who worked in the Calderdale district at the time of his arrest, appeared at Bradford Magistrates' Court on Tuesday but did not enter a plea.

Mr Yamin, of Branksome Grove in Shipley, resigned from the force in 2023 while under investigation for offences which allegedly took place between 28 November 2019 and 27 July 2022.

The charges followed an investigation into computer misuse, unauthorised disclosure of police information, assisting an offender and fraud, according to West Yorkshire Police.

They relate to Mr Yamin's work at West Yorkshire Police headquarters in Halifax and amounted to an "abuse of the public trust", the court heard.

He is due to appear at Bradford Crown Court on 27 July 2025 and has been given unconditional bail.
