Railway station project means seven-week roadworks
West Midlands Rail ExecutiveWork to build a new railway station will mean seven weeks of roadworks, starting on Sunday.
The Kings Heath station will be one of three to be created on the Camp Hill line through south Birmingham, along with stations at Moseley and Pineapple Road.
Road users have been warned diversions will delay journeys around the Kings Heath High Street area.
The Camp Hill line project was one of a number of transport schemes hit with delays due to increased costs of about £121m, and the work was due to have been completed by 2023.
Transport for West Midlands said roadworks in Kings Heath would also affect High Street's junction with Queensbridge Road.
Disruption includes:
- Three-way temporary traffic lights during preparatory work
- No vehicle access to and from Valentine Road from High Street
- Closure to the pedestrian footway on High Street
Temporary pedestrian crossings will be created and Valentine Road will remain open for pedestrians.
Passengers using the National Express West Midlands 1, 35 and 50 services have been warned to expect delays.
