Temporary traffic lights that were taken down over the Easter weekend have been reinstalled as work continues to repair a wall along the A6 in Derbyshire.

Derbyshire County Council said contractors had completed enough work under the road in Matlock Bath in time for bank holiday traffic.

Repairs are being carried out at six sites along the four-mile stretch of the A6, which includes rebuilding, repointing and replacing damaged stones as well as installing new steel ground anchors to reinforce the walls in order to provide "additional strength and stability".

The council said the work - between Matlock and Whatstandwell - was expected to last another four weeks.

The council added there had been "extra complications" with the project due to workers finding further damage and historic cabling, but said the work remained "on track".
