Driver dies and pedestrian injured in Uist crash

A woman has died following a crash in North Uist involving a car and a pedestrian.

The collision happened at about 12:20 in the Bayhead area.

Police said the woman, who was the driver of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The female pedestrian was taken to Uist and Barra Hospital with serious injuries. Police said inquiries were ongoing.
