Gym reopens after £110,000 upgrade

A gym has reopened after undergoing a £110,000 refurbishment.

Heeley Gym and Pool, in Sheffield, has been kitted out with new weights and cardio equipment, including treadmills, cross trainers, rowing machines and exercise bikes.

The facility, which is run by Everyone Active in partnership with Sheffield City Council, was officially reopened in 10 June.

Kurtis Crossland, chair of the communities, parks and leisure committee, said: "We are committed to ensuring that everyone in Sheffield has access to facilities that support them in being more active, more often."

Everyone Active contract manager, Phil Bowers, added: "We're incredibly proud to unveil the new and improved facilities at Heeley Pool and Gym.

"We hope residents enjoy the brilliant new gym in this space which has been designed with the local community's wellbeing in mind."
