Appeal over abandoned dogs found covered in scabs

An animal charity is appealing for information after two neglected dogs were found covered in scabs and missing most of their fur.

They were dumped in Coventry War Memorial Park on 9 February in poor physical condition, the RSPCA said.

The charity said the dogs were being treated by the city's dog wardens for a number of days, but had to be put down due to the severity of their condition.

Inspector Laura Brewerton, who is investigating the case for the charity, said the dogs did not have a microchip for them to find out more about them.

"It's heartbreaking to see how both these dogs had been left," she said.

"I'm really keen to find out what happened to them and who allowed these dogs to get into such an awful state.

The RSPCA asked anybody with information to get in touch.
