Nearly three miles of Christmas lights have transformed a house and garden in Bardney, Lincolnshire, in aid of a charity.

Andy, who did not want to give his surname, has adorned his house with inflatable snowmen, Father Christmases, and about 25,000 LED lights.

The money raised from the display will go direct to St Barnabas Hospice, who he said were "absolutely incredible".

It marks the fifth consecutive year the family have raised money for the charity, which provides palliative and end-of-life care.

It is the fifth consecutive year Andy has created a Christmas display for St Barnabas Hospice

Andy said with the help of his wife, their next-door neighbour who is a roofer and the general community, it took about a week to put up the display.

With a goal of raising £5,000, the Christmas light display had already raised around £470 on Friday, its fourth day, and will be up until the new year.

The Lincoln based charity have a personal connection for the fundraisers who explained: "We lost our auntie this year and without the support of St Barnabas we don't know what it would have been like.

With a primary school nearby, Andy said it also gives children an "extra festive boost" when they walk past it

"Their continuing help from when she was diagnosed to when she sadly passed away, they were absolutely incredible.

"It truly takes somebody special to be able to do what they do," Andy said.
