Wiltshire Police said the junction could be closed for some time

Motorists are being warned of disruption as an M4 junction has been closed following a crash.

Emergency services are at the scene of the collision near junction 17 for Chippenham, Wiltshire.

National Highways said the exit and entry slip roads on the eastbound carriageway were closed and urged motorists to allow extra time for their journeys.

Wiltshire Police said traffic approaching the roundabout from the A350 and the A429 would be diverted and it would not be possible for drivers to enter the A429 from junction 17.

"It may be closed for a number of hours while an investigation takes place. Please seek alternative routes," the force added.
