Delays on A12 after 'serious incident'

A major road was closed in both directions after a "serious incident".

Drivers were warned of long delays near junction 29 on the A12 at Colchester after a vehicle overturned in a collision at about 19:00 BST on Tuesday.

Essex Police, the East of England Ambulance Service and the East Anglian Air Ambulance went to the crash, near Colchester United's stadium.

The air ambulance landed on the carriageway.

At about 21:00, National Highways posted on X that the collision had been cleared, but said there were still delays.
