Truro City Council has cleared its former plant nursery depot at Boscawen Park ahead of the development of a new Community Sports Hub.

The plans for a new indoor and outdoor sports and leisure facility were given the go-ahead by Cornwall Council in February.

Old equipment, no longer needed at the new nursery site in Idless, was recycled by the council.

Richard Budge, the council's parks, amenities and facilities officer, said: "We are delighted to have found new homes for all the polytunnels and greenhouses among community groups, local growers and smallholders."

One of the polytunnels has gone to Redruth Town Council, which is planning to begin growing its own plants.

The old site office has moved to Kenwyn Hill playing field where it is now being used as a club house for the Truro Youth football team.
