A serious crash closed the Clydeside Expressway in Glasgow after a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle.

Police Scotland said the incident happened at about 13:35, near the point where traffic joins the road from the Kingston Bridge.

The busy dual carriageway, which runs from the city centre to the west of Glasgow, was closed in both directions with several emergency vehicles at the scene.

Drivers were urged to seek alternative routes before the road was fully reopened at about 19:00.
