Teen injured after substance thrown in his face
A 17-year-old boy has received a "potentially life-changing injury" after an unknown substance was thrown in his face, according to police.
Essex Police said he was attacked by a gang wearing balaclavas during an incident, which took place at Cherrydown East, Basildon, Essex, at about 20:40 GMT on 21 January.
Det Con Shannon Ross said: "I know this incident will cause concern and we are work tirelessly to identify those responsible."
She appealed for anyone with information, dashcam or other footage to get in touch.
