Two men have been charged with attempted murder following a shooting in Hartlepool.

Police were called to Garside Drive on Thursday where they found a man in his 30s with serious injuries.

Two men - one aged 19 and the other 20 - are due to appear at Teesside Crown Court later.

The 20-year-old man is also facing a number of firearms and drugs charges.

Two women, aged 34 and 54, and three men, one aged 23 and two 32-year-olds, who were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, have been released on bail while investigations continue, Cleveland Police said.
