Man and woman both injured in assault

A man and a woman both suffered injuries and were taken to hospital after an assault in Plymouth on Monday night.

Armed police officers were called to Collin Close after ambulance crews reported a man had suffered stab wounds.

A 31-year-old man was taken to Derriford Hospital to be treated for serious injuries but has since been discharged and taken into police custody.

A 36-year-old woman was also found at the property with injuries and taken to hospital for treatment. She has also been discharged and taken into custody.

Police said the man and woman know each other.

The force said inquiries were continuing and a cordon remains in place.
