Plymouth Pride cancelled due to lack of funding

Organisers of Plymouth Pride have cancelled this year's events due to a lack of funding and a drop in the number of volunteers.
They said last year's event cost more than £33,500 to put on, but only £21,500 was raised - leaving a shortfall of £12,000.
A National Lottery funding application to fund future events was also unsuccessful, they added.
Organisers said they hoped to bring Pride back in 2026 but would need "significantly more support" to keep it "free and sustainable".
"Without increased sponsorship, community donations and volunteers, the future of Plymouth Pride is at serious risk," they said.
Organisers said the pool of volunteer directors had "reduced in size each year".
"This year there are simply too few people involved to dedicate the necessary time and energy around our regular jobs."
