Two in court charged with village stabbing murder

Two men have appeared in court charged with the murder of a 19-year-old man who was stabbed to death in a Hampshire village.

Tawana Choruma was found injured in Station Road, Netley, shortly before 18:30 GMT on Wednesday and died at the scene.

Hampshire Constabulary said Dominic Adeyemi, 18, of Holmes Close in Netley Abbey and Jack Hibberd, 18, of no fixed abode have been charged with murder.

They have been remanded in custody after appearing before Southampton Magistrates Court and will appear at WInchester Crown Court on Tuesday.

A 36-year-old woman from Southampton was previously arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a class B drug and possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

The woman had also been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender but no further action was being taken on that offence, police said.

On Sunday, a 51-year-old man from Southampton was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and has been released on conditional bail.

Another 18-year-old man from Southampton, who was arrested on suspicion of murder and possessing stolen property, has also been released on bail.

A 15-year-old boy from Netley who was also arrested has since been released with no further action planned against him.
