A man has died after being struck by a car on the A47, near its junction with Russell Hill

A man has died after being hit by a vehicle after he got out of his car in a lay-by.

Emergency services were called to reports of a pedestrian being struck by a car on the A47 in Peterborough, at about 21:55 BST on Easter Sunday.

The man in his 30s, who had just exited a vehicle parked that was near the junction with Russell Hill at Thornhaugh, died at the scene.

Cambridgeshire Police said a grey Audi and a grey Citroen were involved.

The force appealed for witnesses, dashcam footage or anyone who saw what happened in the moments leading up to the incident.
