Bringing ‘Japanese efficiency’ to London’s tube system
Later this year, the Tokyo Metro - along with UK rail, bus firm Go Ahead and Japanese conglomerate Sumitomo - will begin operating the Elizabeth Line in London.
The newest Tube line in the UK capital opened in 2022 after 20 years of planning, construction and delays. The President of Tokyo Metro, Akiyoshi Yamamura, has been telling Mariko Oi how he plans to help to bring Japanese efficiency to London’s public transport.
