A car driver has been charged following a crash involving a school bus in Aberdeenshire.

The accident happened on the A93 between Crathes and Drumoak, as children were being taken to Crathes Primary, at about 08:50.

Aberdeenshire Council said the pupils were safe, and that a replacement bus had taken them to school.

Police Scotland said the driver of the car, a 25-year-old man, had been charged with a road traffic offence, and was expected to appear in court at a later date.
