Motorists have been warned of disruption while contractors carry out emergency gas works.

The work to upgrade gas pipes on the A36 Warminster Road in Limpley Stoke, Wiltshire, began on Friday evening and is set to finish by the end of Sunday.

Wales and West Utilities, who are carrying out the work, said two-way traffic lights will be in operation near to the Rose and Crown pub during this time.

John Gordge, who is managing the gas pipe upgrade work, said: "It really is essential to make sure we keep the gas flowing to homes and businesses in the area and to make sure the gas network is fit for the future."

He said a team of gas engineers will be on site to complete the "work as safely and as quickly as possible", while "keeping disruption to a minimum".
