Murder charge after man hit by a car dies

A man has been charged with murder and two more people have been arrested after a fatal crash between a pedestrian and a car.

Essex Police said a man in his 20s from London died after he was injured near a cycle path off Momples Road, in Harlow, at about 17:30 GMT on Saturday.

Jeremy Heath, 50, of Ladyshot in Harlow, Essex, has been charged with murder.

He has also been charged with possessing a bladed article in a public place and is due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.

Two men aged 42 and 39 both from Harlow have also been arrested in connection with the incident.

The 39-year-old was arrested on suspicion of murder and robbery, while the 42-year-old was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Detectives have appealed for anyone with more information to come forward and assist with inquiries.
