Boy, 11, dies after being hit by car while on bike

An 11-year-old boy has died after he was struck by a car while riding his bike in Cheshire.
The child was hit by a black Ford Fiesta on Booth Lane in Middlewich, close to the junction with Tetton Lane, at about 14:15 BST on Monday, Cheshire Police said.
The force said the driver and passengers in the car were arrested but did not disclose the precise number of people or the offences they were held on suspicion of.
Sgt Simon Degg appealed for witnesses or anyone with relevant video footage to come forward.
The boy died at the scene and his family were being supported, the force added.
Sgt Degg said: "Our thoughts remain with his family and friends at this difficult time.
"We would like to appeal to anyone who witnessed this incident and hasn't already spoken to police to get in touch with us."
