Two arrested after high-speed pursuit

Two people have been arrested after a high-speed police pursuit in North Yorkshire.
The driver of a vehicle which was believed to be linked to drug dealing failed to stop for officers who had spotted the car near Menwith Hill on Wednesday morning, police said.
The vehicle was driven off towards Harrogate on the A59, reaching speeds of up to 90mph (144 km/h), before being brought to a stop using a stinger device near Bond End in Knaresborough.
Officers said a man, 47, was arrested at a nearby address on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop for police and suspected theft of a vehicle, while a woman, 44, who had remained in the car, was arrested on suspicion of theft of a vehicle.
The man and woman remained in police custody, according to North Yorkshire Police.
