A railway line between Surrey and Berkshire has reopened after it was closed for maintenance works.

The line between Staines and Windsor & Eton Riverside closed last Saturday to allow repairs to take place on track on the Black Potts Railway Bridge, which runs over the River Thames.

Network Rail said this included removing old rails and sleepers from the site and installing new track.

Throughout the closure, buses operated instead of trains.

No trains have served Wraysbury, Sunnymeads, Datchet and Windsor & Eton Riverside stations since 21 March, with services instead terminating at Staines.

The line is served by South Western Railway (SWR) trains.

Passengers travelling on SWR over the weekend were warned that on Saturday, buses will replace trains between Haslemere and Havant, and on Sunday between Guildford and Havant.
