Fire crews remain at derelict hotel after blaze

Fire crews remain at a derelict hotel after a blaze in the building in the early hours.
Part of the roof of the hotel, in Clifton Crescent, Folkestone, appeared to have been destroyed in the fire, which was first reported shortly after 02:30 BST.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service said seven fire engines and a height vehicle had attended the scene, but only two fire engines and a height vehicle remained at lunchtime, as crews made sure there were no remaining hotspots.
A spokesperson said: "Building inspectors are in attendance to assess the safety of the building."

After earlier advice, people living or travelling nearby were no longer being advised to avoid the area or keep windows and doors closed.
A South East Coast Ambulance Service spokesperson said the service was made aware of the fire shortly before 03:00, and attended the scene but no patients were located.
