A person has been seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash in Cornwall.

Devon and Cornwall Police said officers were called to the A39 at St Kew Highway at about 15:00 BST.

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said a crew also attended the scene after police informed them of "persons trapped" at the location.

The force said one person was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.

The fire service confirmed specialist equipment was used to release two injured people who were passed into the care of South Western Ambulance Service.

Police added local road closures, which were put in place while the incident was ongoing, would be lifted "imminently".
