Two men have been taken to hospital with serious burns after a "severe" fire caused extensive damage to a house.

Ten fire crews and an ambulance were called to a two-storey terraced home on Shrewsbury Close, Bloxwich, just before 21:30 BST on Monday.

West Midlands Fire Service said the "severe fire" had also affected neighbouring properties, from which residents were evacuated.

The service said the blaze had been put out by 23:00 BST, adding a local church and the Red Cross charity provided shelter and support.

West Midlands Police said the two men with burn injuries were later found in Willenhall, a neighbourhood next to Bloxwich, and remained in hospital as of midday on Tuesday.

One of the pair was found with critical injuries and one had serious injuries, West Midlands Ambulance Service said.
