Trains were cancelled earlier after overhead line damage

Services have resumed after overhead line damage led to trams on part of the West Midlands Metro network being cancelled.

West Midlands Metro had earlier reported no trams between Wolverhampton Station and West Bromwich Central "until further notice" as a result of the damage near its depot.

Power was later restored, with trams now operating across all zones from Wolverhampton to Edgbaston Village.

A statement posted on X said: "There will be delays to service due to the earlier service disruption. Thank you for your patience and understanding."
