Ryan Twardun, 32, appeared at Telford Magistrates' Court on Monday

A man has appeared in court accused of carrying out violent attacks earlier this month, including one in Newport.

Ryan Twardun, from Hinstock, near Market Drayton, is charged with assault, unlawful wounding, threats to kill, criminal damage, perverting the course of justice and voyeurism.

West Mercia Police said the 32-year-old was arrested by officers in Essex on Saturday.

Following an appearance before magistrates in Telford, Mr Twardun was remanded into custody and is due to appear at Shrewsbury Crown Court on 22 April.

A 34-year-old man arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has since been released on bail, the force added.
