Two teenagers have been taken to hospital after a crash between a motorcycle and a car.

It happened on Chester Road in Hartlepool at about 20:00 BST on Sunday, Cleveland Police said.

The motorbike's rider and passenger, a man aged 19 and a 13-year-old boy, were both taken to hospital and their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The 38-year-old driver of the car, a grey Vauxhall Insignia, was arrested in connection with the crash and remained in custody, police said.

The force is appealing for witnesses.
