Driver and passenger in two-car crash are named

The two cars collided in the early hours of 23 March

Two men who died in a crash in the early hours of the morning have been named by police.

Officers were called to the B1007 Stock Road, by junction 16 of the A12 in Chelmsford, shortly after 03:00 GMT on 23 March.

John Kerrigan, 34, from Romford, east London, was the driver of one car.

Steven Tibbitt, 54, from Billericay, a passenger in the second car, also died at the scene.

Two other men who were in the car with Mr Tibbitt were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Det Sgt Natacha Brown said: "Our specialist officers continue to support the families of those who died in the collision."
